As a former Dale Jr fan, it’s hard to find a new driver when your’s retires. It also doesn’t help that NASCAR has changed, so much, in the last 20 years.

Rick and Kenny lasted though the concrete walls sucking on a tail pipe I'm sure Rick wasn't the only Driver ,that had to stop, just didn't know exactly why, not getting paid Dale JR money. Don't know much about Rick but without miss Kim would Kenny made it? From nothing to ASA I'm sure Rusty's name helped, but not much else at the time. Hundreds of races no wins ,but appreciated every job he had well maybe one team I can think of he'll never do a trip down memory lane with Stapleton42 or/ hot little Logan? Hey he's married but can still look. 😂

The first year of a driver-team combination is rarely very fruitful, especially when the driver is new to the series. Keyboard warriors most times make comments that reveal their IQ level regarding life , much less this sport. 😮😮😮

I had a life experience that I feel aged me 10 years in one year. I can attest to the fact that it truly does happen. Arguably the best example of this was the Lewis and Clatk Corps of Discovery group. The stress of the journey put virtually all of them in a grave in 10 years. The one thing in common with the L&C expedition in my case is the Missouri River. I fought the 2011 flood for nearly 100 days. Days that sometimes stretched out to 22 hours, with 19 to 20 being the average. There was a month straight of those days. I understand what Rick is saying.

sorry I just dont agree with him at all. this is just his personal opinion. maybe back in the day it took a toll on you and did age a guy quicker but these are modern day spoon fed panzis driving these cars. honestly look at the field most of these guys today look like they are 14 years old know nothing about hard work or being humbled just incredible lucky to be where they are

I agree...I followed for the late 70's through the 90's...since the great drivers left, I found no one as interesting as the late drivers...DE, Bush, Gant, mark, Allison ,Wallace, etc. The drivers today are not fan friendly...SPONSHIP IS A SOFT GROUP and require the drivers to be the wimpy men. THE MEN ARE GONE AND KIDS ARE IN THE SPORT NOW AND THEY MADE CARS ALL BY THE SAME MOLDS THE, SAME...NO ONE HAS A TRICK ANY MORE....the drivers are molded into wimps in my personal opinion...ITS HARD TO SEE A MAN SIZED DRIVERS OUT THERE...the drivers today are little men 5'8" are so many small stature drivers...I stopped spending my dollars on NASCAR..I follow local tracks Fain and give my t--shirt money, abd product support to these local guys...ITS TEAL SATURDAY NIGHT RACING.... today's drivers are using man wipes, to smell pretty... where have all the real men gone from NASCAR...when make Sr. Died the sport suffered and when his generating of drivers retired, the fans keft along with the drivers..Let's not forget Tony Stewart...Mike & Darrel Waltrip, J Gordon, Spencer...the good the bad the ugly were racing, it was a awesome sport...not it's all safety...that's OK for sure, BUT DRIVERS ARE SOFT, AND ABY MORE RUBBING IS NOT RACING...The sport is weak abd tickets are outpricing the fans to follow...to take a family of 4 to track itcost 500+ just fir ti jets to get a seat, then you need a few hundred to feed the family...it's way to costly . People use their vacation money to see one race a season..thats disgraceful... Many sports venues are getting too small because they can't fill the stadiums..... Why do you think they're adding all these smaller tracks right now? Think about it. People use your thinking You're losing your fanbase. They're putting tracks from the middle of owa. Iowa or out in the corn patch, those tracks are small. They hold 6-- 8000 people. Most of the tracks used to hold 10--15-- 20K people. That doesn't even exist anymore unless it's a huge Daytona. Or indie track or something like that, but the big tracks like pocono. Last year, there was at least 10K plus seats. Not even full, not even sold tickets to, that's nascar's fault.... Get back to the roots or get gone....

Eventually, you just get tired of doing the same thing for so long. I've been in the Navy now for 17 years and grew up in it as a kid, so really 35. Doing the same thing that long wears you down, especially when you are expected to perform.

Im glad Nascar has the rain tires but hate when Nascar throws “competition” cautions and dictates tires in general. Let the teams decide if they want to take a chance on slicks of running a few extra laps and maybe wreck it adds excitement! Nascar needs to do a better job with cautions especially at the end i hate seeing 10 laps of caution especially if they just went green.

Life ages you. The beer truck driver, the retail worker, climb ing the corporate ladder, it all takes its toll. I’m not feeling sorry for a cup driver. You can choose what you want to do in this life. Not easy.

It’s not the same sport, playoffs and time outs(stage racing). Ticket prices were retarded for a while. The mile and a half tracks were all boring racing. And the loss of Dale Earnhardt all contributed. Baby Brian France is not his father or grandfather his advent of charters is killing the sport as well. He’s such a bad manager teams will soon look elsewhere to race. I imagine Stewart will continue to advocate alternatives. It’s been all talk so far but he’s selling out of NASCAR for his own reasons.
